What is MinistryBiz?

MinistryBiz joins joins “ministry” with “business” enterprise. MinistryBizzes are businesses with Christian-leader worldview. MinistryBiz leaders are licensed or ordained clergy leaders who have studied at Christian Leaders Institute and have completed a clergy recognition process with the Christian Leaders Alliance.

MinistryBiz is inspired by the early deacon ministers who were willing to serve at tables so that more ministry could be accomplished.

Acts 6:2-3

The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.  Therefore select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

These early clergy leaders had other means to support their families while they voluntarily served as ministers in very practical ways, such as serving tables.

These clergy leaders became…

  • A recruitment system for new Christian leaders.
  • A confirmation system for tested Christian leaders who were given more and more governing leadership of the people of God. Two cases in point: Stephen and Philip not only served tables, but they became powerful in the ministry of the gospel. Stephen became one of the first martyrs (Acts 7), and Philip started the church in Ethiopia (Acts 8).

This clergy order became open to women. The apostle Paul commended Pheobe as a deacon-minister who delivered the letter of Romans to the church in Rome.

I commend to you Phoebe, our sister, who is a deacon of the assembly that is at Cenchreae.  (Romans 16:1)

This clergy order included every economic class, was very practical and included many roles. We find deacon clergy members that were slaves and we find them owning slaves. Christianity in those days entered in the society, not as a social gospel agent in policy changes, but as a redemptive agent of the coming eternal Kingdom of God. There was openness to include everyone, slave or free, who submitted their lives to Jesus Christ.

Slave or free Christians were raised up and called into ministry.

The early church saw clergy as volunteer, part-time, and full-time called ministers who served according to their situation in life.

What is MinistryBiz? MinistryBiz is the joining of ministry and business. Inspired by the first deacon ministers, these ministry businesses present the expectation that ministry and business are linked.
